Binding, c. 1: contemporary mottled sheepskin. Gold tooling on boards and spine. Red spine label with title: DESCRI / DES / [D]ESSE[INS]. The edges marbled. Binding, c. 2: later mottled sheepskin. Gold tooling on boards and spine. Spine label with title: CABINET / CROZAT.
On front pastedown of c. 2 are labels of Anatole de Montaiglon and Ulrich Middeldorf. A blind embossed seal containing the word SEAL appears on t.p.'s of both titles of c. 2 and on the last p.
