Hawkins's abridgment of the commentary of Sir Edward Coke on Littleton from Coke's First part of the institutes of the laws of England. Hawkins omits Coke's reprint of Littleton's Tenures and such parts of Coke as were obsolete when the work was compiled. Cf., J.G. Marvin, Legal bibliog.

Signatures: A⁴(-A4) B-2C¹².

LC copy previously owned by Thomas Jefferson, initialed by him at signatures I and T. Has armorial bookplate, "Reuben Skelton, Hanover County, Virginia" and has a few manuscript notes, possibly in Reuben Skelton's hand. Rebacked and repaired, armorial bookplate and Library of Congress 1815 bookplate preserved. Cf. Sowerby.

LC copy imperfect: final leaf containing publisher's advertisements (leaf 2C12) wanting.
