The writer says: "I have tried to assimilate all that is good in many cultures and to bring about a synthesis of these cultures in my own writings. It is as though I must find a third eye that can see what is best in all cultures, to integrate them newly in a changing world and to be as much a releasing force as to be an absorbing force. In this effort I have no country, but seek the best expressions of all nations" (Page 109).
