The Mackay School of Mines was studying the cyanide in mill tailings waste. The project was in its early stages, but the observations were promising. Some cyanide testing had been done, but no conclusions had been defined. The areas of sample collection, preparation, preservation, evaluation and characterization were discussed. A discussion on areas needing improvement was included.
