This book is written about twins growing up in the early 30's in a small fishing village. At the time of the publishing of this book, the Goulden twins have yet to be the only twins born in this community. It tells how they started at a very young age helping the men at the wharf and the hardships the had. Their Mother raised them most of the time with the help of their older brother.
Their father was an engineer in the Merchant Marines and would go many months at a time.
