The book has three parts, each containing a set of essays. The introductory part deals with following problems: typology of possible approaches to comics; differentiation of genres; whiteness as an essential part of language of comics. The second part contains essays on the internationally acknowledged authors such as Milton Caniff, Dik Browne, Rene Goscinny, Morris, Hugo Pratt, Herman Huppen, Julio Ribera, Alberto Breccia, Richard Corben, Paul Gillon, Milo Manara, Alfonso Font and Manfred Sommer. The third part is entirely dedicated to authors from ex-Yugoslavia: Igor Kordey, Zoran Janjetov, Mirko Ilic, Darko Perovic, Zeljko Pahek, Lazar Stanojevic, Radovan Devlic, Kresimir Zimonic, Emir Mesic and ZZOT group.
