Pictures were done in the Spring of 1937 at the Bagatelle Flower Show in pre-war Paris, This was the place where all French gardeners and connoisseurs sent the masterpieces of their efforts and Arlette Davids was able to choose from a magnificent material prize-winning exhibitions. Than came the war and the occupation of France. The roses bloomed at Bagatelle but the Flower Show was a remembrance of the past. The artist perished among many other victims of the war. Her peaceful life work remained.
This contains a selection of water colors chosen among her best and reproduced in splendid lithographs which retain all the freshness and spontaneousness of her design and colors. The plates and the originals are so closely alike that even the artist was unable to distinguish her paintings from the reproductions.
