A satirical attack on Col. James Caller, who in July 1813 led a surprise attack on the Creek Indians at Burnt Corn Creek, Ala. This battle, in which the whites were routed, was the beginning of the Creek War

The poem was reprinted in The miscellaneous poems of Lewis Sewall (Mobile, 1833) from which its authorship is known. See R. C. Ellison, Early Alabama publications (University, Ala., 1947) p. 152
