Whereas the constitution of this state makes it the duty of the selectmen and assessors of the several towns and places in this state, in warning the first annual meeting for the choice of senators ... resolved, that (seven years having expired since the adoption of the constitution) the selectmen and assessors ... be requested to attend to and discharge the duty enjoined on them ... In Senate the same day read and concurred ..
