Edition Notes

Dated: Dudley, December 30, 1787. The final seven has been added in ms., apparently to correct a typographical error; the printed numeral is illegible. Bristol supplies 1783 but dates the broadside [1787?] based on the ms. correction. The Huntington Library, which holds the only known original, supplies 1785 and dates the broadside [1785?], perhaps based on another advertisement, dated December 20, 1785, placed by Cargill in Thomas' Massachusetts spy, offering a fifty dollars reward for stolen goods.
