Edition Notes
Dialogue in verse; first line, spoken by Death: Ho, ho prepare to go with me.
Several earlier editions of this poem, with varying titles, were printed between 1720 and 1763. For the earliest recorded edition, cf. Bristol B575.
Dated [1790] by Ford and Bristol. However, the Hampshire chronicle was published by a series of printers, from March 6, 1787, to September 6, 1796, and no evidence has been found to support a particular year of publication.
Parentheses substituted for square brackets in title and imprint transcriptions.
Text in three columns.
