Edition Notes

Attributed to Strong by Evans and in: Bates, A.C. "Checklist of Connecticut almanacs." Proceedings of the American Antiquarian Society, n.s. v. 24 (1914): 102, 124. The title pages of Strong's almanacs for 1806 and 1807 published at New Haven identify Strong as the author of those formerly issued under the pseudonym of Hosea Stafford.

In this issue the eclipse predictions (p. [2]) are identical in wording and calculations with those in Strong's signed almanac for this year, An astronomical ephemeris, calendar, or almanack for 1786 (Hartford). The "Stafford" series now begins to move toward the close similarity it eventually reached with the parallel series of almanacs published at Hartford under Strong's own name.

Advertised in the Connecticut journal, New Haven, Dec. 7, 1785.
