"At the age of 16 I was a mature woman, living in an underdeveloped country where the challenges for advancement seemed insurmountable. This was the most difficult time in my young life. I sailed through life detached -no safe harbor, no compass on a wave of hormones, personal doubts, an inferiority complex and many economic challenges.
I want to give young Haitians, specifically young women the tools for introspection in order to work on themselves and build their self-esteem.
As a filmmaker, I strive to focus my documentary, feature films and radio work on the stories of women. Not only to stimulate conversation but also to give actresses opportunities to work.
This book draws from my experiences and observations of people directly and indirectly around me. This is the vision of a woman living within Haitian society.
Let's walk together on the path that leads to the liberation of our minds." - back cover
