Book Details
First Sentence
"The idea of travelling to Nuristan was originally that of Mr J.T. Kendrick ('JT'), second secretary at the United States embassy, who invited first me, and then Reinhard Schlagintweit of the German embassy, to join him on a trip to the Pech (commonly known in this spelling, although pronounced 'Pich') Valley in central Nuristan."
