This is a documentation of experiments performed by Sir William Gilberd pertaining to experiments with magnetism and the earth's magnetic field. Sir William was a prolific writer but alas most of his works were consumed in the great fire of London.
It is implied that many of Sir William's contemporaries were influenced by him and it is know that he assisted Sir Francis Drake with compass navigation as well as for appearing for the defence of Galelio at his trial by the Church of Rome.
