Book overview of 60 Minutes and the Assassination of Werner Erhard
When the author of this book was contacted about taking on the project of uncovering the truth behind this story, she was warned that she was basically on her own and that it might even involve risking her life. No stones were left unturned. Every single allegation made against the man known as Werner Erhard is addressed including the accusations on national television that he physically abused his children and wife and was a greedy, power-crazed cult leader. Could this be the same man who was awarded the Mahatma Ghandi Humanitarian Award in 1988? The same man who created programs in which over a million people participated and reportedly received great benefits? The allegations in the newspapers and on 60 Minutes did not ring true nor match the experience that thousands of associates and participants of Werner Erhard's programs had of him. To some this book may read like a best-selling spy novel, however, the author made sure that the book accomplished what it set out to do - uncover and report the truth about Werner Erhard's demise and how the media can be manipulated by sinister forces for their own purposes.

Jane Self, Ph.D. is the author of the book 60 Minutes and the Assassination of Werner Erhard. She is an award winning columnist and assistant features editor at The Macon Telegraph.
