Andre Norton at her best. She spins a tale of one of the first groups to cross over by use of a gate into a new world where wonders and dangers await. Leading us from marvel to marvel - both good and bad - she unrolls a tapestry of fantasy and magic which she so excels at. Rather than tell you further about the tale, I leave it to you to explore it as I did, not knowing the outcomes but enjoying each new event as it happens. A very good read. gmb 7-22-20
