"(Project 4501) In the several years between the completion of the Minerals and Metals Research Building (4910) in 1943 and that of Alumni Memorial Hall (originally known as the Navy Building) in 1946, Mies had time to modify and refine the details used in the earlier work, particularly those involving the secondary structure of the curtain wall (wide flange, channel, glass and brick) and the primary steel-skeleton structure."
