First Sentence

"SUMMARY: The facts:-The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia applied to the Trial Chamber, under Article 9(2) of the Statute of the Tribunal, for a formal request to the Government of Bosnia-Herzegovina ("the Government") to defer to the competence of the Tribunal in respect of an investigation into war crimes and other offences allegedly committed by the suspects, namely Radovan Karadzic, the head of the administration established by the Bosnian Serbs in the parts of Bosnia-Herzegovia under their control, Ratko Mladic, the commander of the Bosnian Serb forces, and Mico Stanisic, who was responsible for Bosnian Serb police and internal affairs ("the suspects")."
