An edition of Japan speaks out (1938)

Japan speaks out

Shingoro Takaishi, the author, was an eminent journalist in Japan and a member of the International Olympic Committee from 1939 until his death in 1966. This book, written and delivered as a series of speeches and broadcasts during the author's goodwill tour of the United States in 1937, was published in 1938. At the time Takaishi was Editor-in-Chief of the Tokyo Nichi-Nichi and the Osaka Mainichi. Therefore this books speaks from the mainstream Japanese political perspective of its day to the crises that beset Asia and Japan's relation to these events and tensions caused in its relationship with its former WWI ally the United States.
