On title page, signature of Thomas Beale with purchase date, 29 October 1590; possibly the Thomas Beale admitted to Inner Temple in November 1586. Also on title page, signatures of R. Harrys and John Spelman, both in 17th century hands. With contemporary or early 17th century marginal annotations throughout this and the year books originally bound following it. Following this copy, several other year books were originally bound in 1 vol.: 1 Richard V (STC 9912); 2 Richard III (STC 9919.5); 1-16, 20, 21 Henry VIII (STC 9926); 12-14 Henry VIII (STC 9937); 18, 19 Henry VIII (STC 9948); 26 Henry VIII (STC 9957); and 27 Henry VIII (STC 9967). Set now bound in 4 volumes. Contemporary or early 17th century marginal annotations throughout; on a flyleaf following STC 9967 is an index by regnal year, from 1 Henry VII to 27 Henry VIII, in the same early hand. A topical index pencilled in a 19th century hand, on several preceding flyleaves.
