Without title; the recto of 1st prelim. leaf contains only the statement "Printed from the ms. in possession of Mr. Adam"; the verso has statement "This pamphlet to be had, gratis, of Messrs. Robinson, in Pater-noster-row; and of Mr. Debrett, Piccadilly" and imprint "Printed for S. Hamilton, by T. Davison, White-Friars"; the 2d prelim. leaf contains a preface, & the text of the letters begins on p. [1].
Published to refute charge by Bowles that Francis Russell, 5th duke of Bedford, was irreligious; publication probably sponsored by John Russell, 6th duke of Bedford.
