The pseudonymous author is variously described as a William or Robert Nixon, flourishing in the reign of Henry VII or in that of James I; this edition reprints a work with title as above, describing the prophet as Robert, b. 1467, together with Oldmixon's "The Cheshire prophecy" with the life of Nixon by "W.E.", both describing the prophet as Robert, a servant of the Cholmondely family under James I.
