On cover: Illustrated by eight engravings on wood; after designs by Robert Cruikshank.

The engravings include a title vignette & a tail-piece, both colored; the title vignette is repeated (uncolored) on the front cover.

A verso imitation of Coleridge and Southey's The Devil's walk; the notes may be by Coleridge's nephew, Sir John Taylor Coleridge, who used the pseud. "A barrister".
