An edition of United States astronauts (1963)

United States astronauts.

Staff report of the Committee on Aeronautical and Space Sciences, United States Senate.

Essentially a proposal for a printed book serving as a prospectus on NASA, its projects (past, current and future).

This is a really cool and VERY RARE/COLLECTIBLE book as it offers photos and biographies of all the major astronauts who would go on to make history@!

Photos and bios are given for; Malcolm Scott Carpenter, Leroy Gordon Cooper JR., John Herschel Glenn, Neil Alden Armstrong, Michael Collins, and many, many others. They are described as proud astronauts associated with the Mercury Spacecraft, FREEDOM 7...

Little did anyone know, that many of those same men would be the first men to orbit and/or walk on the moon...

The book is 70 pages and was issued by the US Congress. 3,000 additional copies were to be printed.

I actually have a mint copy of the original draft (before those 3,000 copies were printed/published).

I'll try and copy it before I sell it.
