Numerous errors in foliation: leaves 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 printed 11, 13, 15, 17, and 18; leaves 15-23 printed 21-29; leaf 24 printed 13; leaves 25-176 printed 31-182 (with additional errors within that sequence, e.g. "127" (i.e. 121) printed 123; "129" (i.e. 123) printed 118, etc.)

In predominantly black letter type; some Roman type.

Written in the form of a dialogue between a doctor of divinity and a student of the laws of England, in which they discuss the relationship between English law and conscience.

An edition combining revised texts of Saint German's 'Dyaloge in Englysshe bytwyxt a doctoure of dyvynyte and a student in the lawes of Englande' (STC 21561) and his 'The secu[n]de dyaloge in Englysshe bytwene ... ' (STC 21565). The former is a modified translation of his 1528 'Dialogus de fundamentis legum Anglie et de conscientia' (STC 21559)

Bound in contemporary calf decorated in blind with fillets; rebacked. Inkstamp of Presbyterian College, Carmarthen (Wales) on title page and a few leaves of text. At head of leaf [2], signature of 'J. Jones' in an 18th (?) century hand. A few early marginal annotations.

Bound in very worn contemporary calf, covers decorated in blind with fillets; vellum guards of rubricated manuscript waste. With a few Latin mottoes, notes, etc. in a contemporary hand on front and back pastedowns and front flyleaf. (At one time time the pastedowns were pasted over the vellum guards.)

Bound in contemporary calf, covers decorated in blind with fillets and "Metalwork 'flower in centre' " roll (Oldham, Blind-stamped, MW. (d) 14; 876), probably London bound. Rebacked. Front and back flyleaves have notes in a contemporary hand. At head of title, signature of Granville Sharp; at foot: 'Ioseph' in a contemporary hand and 'Bernard Elliott Percy 1822'. With some contemporary marginal annotations.
