Ownership inscriptions of 'Rychard Moore' and another early owner (Nicholas Barron?) below title. Moore's inscriptions also at foot colophon, and on verso of leaves 121, 231 and 381. Possibly the Richard Moore admitted to Middle Temple July 1586 and called to the bar April 1594. On front endpaper (in Moore's hand?) a list of names and a note, crossed out.
In this copy gathering 4I misbound: 4I1, 4I3, 4I4, 4I2, 4I7, 4I5, 4I6, 4I8 (i.e. leaves as follows: 615, 617, 618, 616, 621, 619, 621 [i.e. 620], 621 [i.e. 622])
Bound in contemporary calf, covers decorated in blind with fillets and "heads in medallions with capstans" roll (Oldham, Blind-stamped, no. HM. a (6); 775); possibly bound in London. Initials I W stamped in center of covers. Remains of brass clasps on back cover; portion of upper leather strap on front cover. Narrow vellum guards of manuscript waste and contemporary pastedowns and free endpapers.
