Edition Notes
Founded in Prague 1946 as a world wide nonpartisan association of National Unions of Students (NUSes), the International Union of Students (IUS) aimed to foster international understanding and lasting peace. However most Western member unions left the organization after the 1948 communist take-over in Czechoslovakia and the IUS became a communist controlled front organization.
