At head of t.p., caption "Decreti huius plenissimum argumentum" is followed by 8+2 verses forming an anagram "Chappuis, I.C." (the editor).
Title page includes device of Nicolaus de Benedictis (shield with triple cross and circle with initials NB suspended from a tree and held by winged putti, as G. Zappella, Le marche, fig. 321 but 93 mm high and with added black triangle in lower half of circle). On verso, large woodcut with port. of Gratian (?) and "Johannis Cappuis tumultuarium carmen".
Imprint from colophon on leaf CCCCCLXXXII.
Printed in red and black; Gratian's text in two columns, surrounded or flanked by the traditional gloss. Page-size woodcut-cum-letterpress "Arbor consanguinitatis" and "Arbor affinitatis" on leaves CCCCCXXV(b) and CCCCCXXVI(a).
Signatures: a-z⁸ [et]⁸ [con]⁸ [rum]⁸ A-X⁸ AA-XX⁸ AAA-DDD⁸ EEE⁶; ²A(red)⁸ ³A-C⁸ ³D-E⁶ chi⁴ (²A(red)8 and chi4 are blank).
