The first three lectures are the Porter lectures, series IX, delivered at the University of Kansas School of medicine, Lawrence, Kansas City; the last two are the William Henry Welch lectures, delivered at the Mount Sinai hospital, New York city. The Porter lectures were published in 1939 under title: Studies in the physiology of the kidney.
