The "Storia dell' America Settentrionale" (v. 1, p. 1-71) is extracted from Raynal's Histoire philosophique et politique des établissemens et du commerce des Européens dans les deux Indes.

The maps are said by the editor, Antonio Zatta, to be based on John Mitchell's Map of the British and French dominions in North America, 1755, and to contain important additions and corrections thereto. cf. Avvertimento, v. 1, p. ix.
