Date of imprint from date of event; Ross was tried at the Old Bailey in January 1832.
Primarily an account of the trial of Ross and her husband Edward Cook for the murder of Caroline Walsh, for the purpose of selling the body for dissection. Ross was convicted; Cook was acquitted.
With two columns of verse describing the crime, trial, and execution.
Verses begin : In front of Newgate's dreary walls.
Wood engraving (4.5 x 14 cm.) : Hanging scene before prison gates, with spectators.
