"The msytery of Jesuitism" refers to the subtitle of the English translation (1657) of Blaise Pascal's Les provinciales. "The imaginary heresie" is by Pierre Nicole.

Pascal, Nicole, and Arnauld were associated with Port-Royal des Champs (Abbey).

The translator was John Evelyn.

Variant without the "Fourth letter" (20 leaves inserted after p. 206).
