The type ornaments arranged as a headpiece on prelim. leaf 2 are found in books printed by several printers for the publisher Jean Pillehotte of Lyons.--cf. Baudrier, II, 275 and 363.

Comprises a reply to Histoire de Marie Royne d'Escosse, 1572 (a translation of De Maria Scotorum Regina ... Historia, 1571, the first part of which is attributed to George Buchanan) and a translation of A treatise of treasons against Q. Elizabeth, 1572 (attributed to John Leslie, bp. of Ross.). The translation (78 f. at end) of the first part of A treatise of treasons is a reply, paragraph, to the tract Salutem in Christo, and has caption title: "Discours contre les conspirations ptetundes [sic] estre faites sur l'estat d'Angleterre ... ". It concerns the Duke of Norfolk.
