"Many of the fastest growing occupations are concentrated in the health services field, which is expected to account for 1 out of every 5 new jobs created by 2014. Factors contributing to job growth include increased use of innovative medical technology, the increase in obesity-related health problems, and the aging population, which will require more health services. Retirement of older workers is expected to cause worker shortages. In some areas, new-hire bonuses of $5000 are common and a few hospitals even offer help with mortgages or rent. Students in fields with the greatest shortages may find employers offering loan forgiveness programs to help repay college debt.
