Heinrich Petri's 1st ed. appeared in 1531 under title: Compositio horologiorum.

Numerous woodcut ill. and diagrams. The cylindrical sundial (p. [269]), the nocturnal on p. [294], and perhaps the Schema concaui (p. 278) are after Hans Holbein. See Hollstein.

Petri's device of hammer striking fire from a rock on last p.; see P. Heitz, Basler Büchermarken, no. 73. It is attributed to Hans Holbein; see Hollstein's German engravings, LV, 98.
