This autobiography describes the author’s life and interests as a musician. Initially as an amateur pianist (privately tutored), then as an organist (taught by the one-time President of the Royal Society of Organists, Catherine Ennis, at the church of St. Lawrence Jewry next Guildhall, in London). His learning to play the Royal Festival Hall’s gamelan. His love of everything related to the late musician, broadcaster, raconteur, humorist and cartoonist Gerard Hoffnung. His membership of the Leighton Buzzard Music Club and of London’s Chopin Society. His creation of two groups of amateur pianists in Cyprus. His promotion of the Russian pianist Tatiana Stupak into the world of professional music. His work producing a documentary video about the Scottish pianist Frederic Lamond, and Lamond’s time as a student of Franz Liszt. And as a composer of classical piano solo music - mostly 19th century romantic, in style.
