The valuable collection holds more than1300 images related to famous personages from the theater in Mexico spanning from 1870 to1944. INBA bought the collection in 2003 and has been digitally restoring them since. The book comprises a selection of 275 images presented each in two parallel plates: the computerrestored images and in the original hand illuminated plates, some in deteriorating condition. The plates are accompanied by texts by the most important theater critics of the late19th century to mid-20th century. Important reference edition on the history Mexican theater andsociety.
