While clinicians recognize that medicine is often practiced in an evidence-based void and with a touch of paternalism, the demands on a busy clinician to see patients often prevents them from taking the time to search the primary literature. This book addresses the most recent evidence behind diagnostic and management decisions of the most common inpatient diagnoses would therefore be helpful to medical students, residents, and hospitalists. The book is for students to help care for patients during their medicine subinternship rotation but may helpful in preparation for their end-of-rotation NBME shelf examination.
