William Crowder (ca.1730-ca.1800) moved from Virginia to Kinderhook, New York, where he married Hannah Rous about 1748. He served with the British army during the French and Indian War, and also during the Revolutionary War, and in 1778 his family arrived seeking refuge to join him with the British forces near Kingston, Ontario. The family later settled on land in Osnabruck Township, Stormont County, Ontario. Descendants and relatives lived in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and elsewhere. Includes many details of the family while they lived in Kinderhook, New York.
