Following the first 2 annual reports (January and December 1866), the Northern Counties' Asylum for Idiots and Imbeciles was called the Royal Albert Asylum.
Consists of an illustration of the asylum, a list of legacies, a prospectus (Winmarleigh, Edward Lawrence, Andrew Fairburn, James Diggens), list of trustees, presidents, officers and central committee members, a report of the general annual meeting at Preston on 27 September 1882, the report of the central committee (Winmarleigh, chairman), the report of the medical superintendent (G. E. Shuttleworth), the report of the Commissioners in Lunacy (Charles Palmer Phillips, John D. Cleaton), the auditor's report (William G. Welch), financial and statistical statements (James Diggens, G.E. Shuttleworth), a list of clergymen and ministers, presents received, census of idiots and imbeciles and a list of places that inmates came from.
