Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy bound in early brown blind-tooled leather. The spine is rebacked in modern brown goat skin with the title stamped in gilt. Three of four early brass catches are present. All edges gilt and gauffered. The bookplate of Arthur Gale and the booksellers' label of Breslauer & Meyer are present on the front pastedown. Single blank leaves are inserted after [1́] and [2́]. Contains thirteen illuminated initials and an illuminated coat of arms attributed to the Master of the Pico Pliny, cf. Armstrong, Lilian. Studies of Renaissance miniaturists in Venice (London: Pindar, 2003) vol. 1, p. 317, no. 11. Armstrong identifies the arms on [2́] as those of the Frizier family of Venice. Early corrections are present throughout. The paper in this copy is heavily sized.
