Original manuscript, in Garrick's hand, containing the dialogue and stage direction for a prologue to an operatic adaptation of Shakespeare's Tempest performed at the Theater Royal in Drury Lane in 1756. A copy of Garrick's last will and testament, published in the Morning Post on Feb. 3rd, 1779, is pasted onto three pages following the manuscript.
Published version appeared in St. James Magazine, vol. 1, p. 144.
Halbound in brown morocco and pink paste paper over boards. The armorial bookplate of the Barton Library is present on the front pastedown, along with a tipped-on dealer's description.
