A collection of caricatures after William Hogarth, presented in the form of a two-part "almanac" for the year 1801 and supposedly extracted from the unpublished works of Georg Christoph Lichtenberg (1742-1799). The first part pillories a range of public figures, from priest to bookseller, writer, city elder, prophet, etc. The second part gives a range of characterisations of different forms of love. Accompanied by hand-colored illustrations, these caricatures include 'young love,' 'miserly love,' 'elderly love,' and 'Jewish love,' among others.
