This form letter was sent to abolitionists by Hiram Wilson, President of the British American Institute, in order to solicit funds for the expansion of the institution in Dawn, Canada West. The institution was established to train African Americans in "habits of industry," and to advance their "secular and religious education." Inside the letter are testimonials from the institution's various supporters.
