In this letter, Samuel May, Jr., acknowledges a generous contribution from Maria Weston Chapman's son, Henry Grafton Chapman, Jr., to the testimonial in behalf of Mr. William Lloyd Garrison. Samuel May has learned from Mr. Quincy that Mme. Laugel has contributed fifty dollars and Anne Chapman [Dicey] one hundred dollars. He sends the thanks of the committee to "both these dear young ladies, who have so faithfully and intelligently emulated the brave example you gave them, ..."
