Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

In this letter, Samuel May, Jr., discusses the arrangements for sending a box of reports to England. Samuel May tells of the terms of employment of J. J. Locke. He speaks favorably of another lecturer named [A. J.?] Grover. He heard that the Leominster abolitionists resented not having their contributions to the Anti-Slavery Bazaar acknowledged in the report; Samuel May considers the omission accidental. The small gift given by Mrs. Rockwood of Leicester, Mass., should also be mentioned. Samuel May received a letter from J. B. Estlin containing contributions. Samuel May received a note from Richard Davis Webb asking how many copies does Miss Weston want of Bancroft's United States, and he has forgotten the name of the person where these volumes should be sent. Samuel May hopes "to hear a favorable report of Lucia's health soon."
