Holograph entries in these ledgers document the purchases of Thomas Lincoln from 1804 until 1808, until his move to the Sinking Springs farmstead, where his son Abraham was born in 1809. Some of the purchases reflect his courtship and marriage to Nancy Hanks.

Ledger A bound in marbled boards, with brown leather spine ; ledger B bound in marbled boards, with black leather spine and corners.
In Ledger B, p. 1-3 (1 p. = 2 open sides) bear newspaper clippings affixed to pages, obscuring transaction and account information.
