Edition Notes

Most images bear some identifying markings. Many have markings such as, "S.C.B. Aug. 2-88," or "S.C.B. Span 'A' Aug. 10-88, 1:10 P.M." Others are variously marked such as: "T.R.B. Cais. Pier II, Oct. 24, 1888" or "T.R.B., P. IV to W. Shore, Sep. 6, 1888"; "W.H.S. Fertilizer House, Aug. 20, 1887" or similar images of the same building construction site marked "Silberhorn, Sept. 20, 1887"; "A.A.P. Co., Aug. 26, 1887, Pork Dept." or "A.A.P. Pork Dept., Sept. 28, 1887, Stone Masons"; "S.C.B. Floyd R. Bridge, Mar. 3, 1888" or "Floyd Bridge, June 27-88" which appear to be images of the smaller bridge over the tributary to the Missouri River, called the Floyd River, in Sioux City, Iowa.

No known restrictions on publication.

Gift; Engineering Societies Library; 1996 (DLC/PP-1997:086).

These cyanotypes were housed in a pocket at the end of a bound volume of three reports on bridge construction in which George S. Morison was the chief engineer. This volume (cataloged now as ESL 71) was donated by George S. Morison to the "United Engineering Society, New York" (cf., book-plate), although the pocket for cyanotypes has the book plate for the "Engineering Societies Library, New York," with "Gift of Samuel H. McCrory" typed on it. Accession stamp on verso of cyanotypes states: Engineering Societies Library, Nov. 26, 1937."
