Edition Notes

Attributed to Osgood Carleton by Evans, probably on the basis of Carleton's advertisement on p. [19] offering instruction in mathematics, navigation, and related subjects. The eclipse calculations correspond to those in: Carleton's almanack (Enlarged and improved) for 1794 ... Boston : S. Hall. However, in the calendar pages, only the calculations for the phases of the moon are identical with Carleton's throughout, while the remaining calculations and astronomical notes correspond to an extent suggesting only the probability of a common author. In other pseudonymous almanacs attributable to Carleton, all the calculations are identical with those in the almanacs published under his name for the same years.
